R. Gross

R. Gross is a folk and mixed media artist, born and raised in Georgia that draws inspiration from her vast collection of antique Americana objects and local North Georgia surroundings.

R. Gross is a self-taught artist that typically uses a dark gouache and acrylic palette for her paintings and also specializes in charcoal work. Included in her body of work, are unique portraits that may be best classified as dark outsider art. She has also been known to create work from her collection of vintage cigar box remnants in a modern tramp art style.

Being mostly inspired by her love of all things rustic, nature-found and vintage, she has created a series of paintings of still life that have an early nineteenth century essence. Most paintings are done on wood panels and R. Gross reclaims antique frames and utilizes them for many of her pieces.

Today R. Gross works out of her home studio where she is extending her portfolio and continues have her work sold locally in Alpharetta, GA at a wonderful gallery space.
