Future Ancestors

Born on a submarine, moved on to a plane, then walked the world, visionary artist Carl Janes eventually planted himself on the shifting sands of Folly Beach, South Carolina to establish a sense of home. He now lives in Atlanta, Georgia and explores all mediums on all scales in his gyrating quest to the bottom of the center. His work can be seen in collections around the world with his permanent installation in South Carolina, Arizona, Arkansas, and Washington DC. He has for 6 years been the mystery behind the secret spot in East Atlanta Village and is currently the artist-in-residence at Mammal Gallery.
